DA Form 705 Guide for Current AFT Results

Use the official form and system directed by your unit. This guide explains the information behind a five-event AFT result and how to audit it before submission.

What the Score Record Must Capture

A complete result needs enough information to reproduce the score: Soldier identification, test date, age group, sex when General scoring applies, the applicable General or Combat standard, all five raw performances, all five converted point values, the total, event-level pass/fail checks, overall status, profile or alternate-event information, and required grader or approving signatures.

Use the current official form, personnel system, and local workflow specified by the unit. A calculator printout can help check arithmetic, but it cannot certify an official record or replace required signatures and administrative review.

Record Raw Performance Before Points

Write the measured result first: deadlift weight, completed push-ups, SDC minutes and seconds, plank minutes and seconds, and two-mile run minutes and seconds. The event score is then looked up from the published age/sex or Combat table. This order matters because an unexplained point value cannot be independently checked.

Identify the Correct Scoring Standard

The General standard is age- and sex-normed and requires at least 60 points in each event and 300 total. The Combat standard is sex-neutral and age-normed and requires at least 60 per event and 350 total. The Soldier's designated specialty determines the standard; assignment to a combat unit by itself does not change a non-designated MOS to Combat scoring.

Check Each Event Before the Total

Verify every raw-to-point conversion against the official table, then check the 60-point event floor. Only after those checks should the five event points be totaled. A total above 300 or 350 does not pass a test containing an event below 60.

Profiles, Waived Events, and Alternate Events

Do not invent a raw result or ordinary point value for an event the Soldier did not perform. Record the profile status according to the official form and unit process. A profile-authorized alternate aerobic event is pass/fail and uses its own age- and sex-based cutoff. Combat permanent-profile scoring separately checks a 70-point average across performed events and a passed alternate event when required.

Height, Weight, and Body Composition Are Separate

The current Army body-composition assessment uses waist-to-height ratio (WHtR), with a passing result below 0.55. Do not copy an obsolete neck/waist/hip body-fat calculation into an AFT score summary or treat body composition as a sixth fitness-test event.

About This Site's Printable Summary

The AFT Calculator can produce a browser-generated score summary for personal checking and discussion. It is deliberately labeled as an unofficial summary. It does not create, sign, upload, or certify a DA Form 705, and it should not be represented as an official Army record.
