Army Deadlift Calculator — AFT 3-Rep Max (MDL) Standards
Enter the accepted three-repetition weight, age group, and sex to calculate AFT deadlift points from the Army scoring scales effective June 1, 2025.
Official AFT Deadlift Standards & Weight Requirements
The 3-Rep Max Deadlift measures lower-body and trunk strength through three accepted repetitions. The recorded weight is converted through an age- and sex-specific scoring row. For ages 17–21, 60 points requires 150 pounds for men and 120 pounds for women; the cutoffs are not universal across all ages.
| Age | Men 60 | Men ≥70 | Men 100 | Women 60 | Women ≥70 | Women 100 |
|---|
The table is generated from the Army’s official AFT scoring scales. The ≥70 column shows the first published raw-performance threshold that earns at least 70 points; where an exact 70-point row has no separate value, that performance may earn more than 70. A Combat-standard result requires 350 total points plus at least 60 in every performed event.
Deadlift Biomechanics & Lockout Standards
The score calculator assumes the test team accepted all three repetitions and recorded the weight. It does not inspect lockout, bar control, handle choice, equipment, or grader commands.
Using the 60-, 70-Plus, and 100-Point Deadlift Benchmarks
Use the 60-point weight as the event floor, the ≥70 weight as a planning target, and the 100-point weight as the scoring ceiling for the selected demographic. Do not copy a weight from another age or sex row. For example, ages 17–21 require 340 pounds for a 100-point men’s score and 220 pounds for a 100-point women’s score.
Form Rules, High Handles vs. Low Handles, and Grader Protocols
For a record test, the test team—not this page—determines whether each repetition is valid. Use the calculator only after a weight has been accepted. Practical checks include:
- Enter the total recorded weight, including the bar and all plates—not the plates-per-side total.
- Confirm the selected age group and sex before interpreting the score.
- Use the official test team’s instructions for handles, equipment, authorized items, and repetition standards.
- Use the Deadlift Plate Calculator only as loading math; verify the actual bar and plate inventory at the test site.
