DA Form 3349 Authorization
The 1,000-meter swim is a profile-authorized alternate aerobic event, not an elective substitute for the two-mile run. The Soldier's current DA Form 3349 must authorize this specific event. Test personnel should use the profile's limitations and current administration guidance rather than assuming every Soldier who cannot run may swim.
Pass/Fail Scoring
A time equal to or faster than the cutoff in the selected age-and-sex cell passes; a slower time fails. The alternate event does not use the two-mile run's graded 60-to-100-point scale, and extra speed does not add points.
How to Use the Calculator Correctly
Select the Soldier's age group and sex, then enter the official completion time in minutes and seconds. The result uses the exact published table cell. It does not interpolate between age groups, round a slower time down, or substitute a single male/female cutoff for all ages.
Boundary rule: a result exactly equal to the displayed maximum passes; one second slower fails. Confirm the authorized stroke, pool measurement, equipment, and test procedure with official test personnel before treating an estimate as a record result.
