Historical reference — not current policy

ACFT Standards (Legacy Six-Event Test)

The six-event Army Combat Fitness Test was replaced by the five-event Army Fitness Test on June 1, 2025. This page preserves the older ACFT intent without mixing its 600-point scale into current AFT scoring.

Which Test Does This Page Cover?

This is a historical reference for the age- and sex-normed ACFT scoring scales dated March 23, 2022. It is useful when reading an older scorecard or comparing performance under the former six-event test. It is not an “ACFT calculator 2026,” and it must not be used to determine a current record AFT result.

What the Six-Event ACFT Included

  1. 3-Repetition Maximum Deadlift (MDL)
  2. Standing Power Throw (SPT)
  3. Hand-Release Push-Up (HRP)
  4. Sprint-Drag-Carry (SDC)
  5. Plank (PLK)
  6. Two-Mile Run (2MR)

Each event could contribute up to 100 points, producing a 600-point maximum. The March 23, 2022 scale used age groups and separate male/female raw-performance thresholds. A passing score ordinarily required at least 60 points in each event, so a high total could not offset a failed event.

Historical ACFT Scoring Version

The exact reference used here is the U.S. Army ACFT scoring scale dated March 23, 2022. Historical scoring changed during the ACFT's development, so an old raw result should be evaluated with the policy and table effective on its original test date. The dedicated legacy ACFT deadlift calculator preserves the former MDL scale, while the Standing Power Throw calculator preserves the event that no longer appears in the current test.

Historical Passing Example

A Soldier scoring exactly 60 points in all six events had a 360-point total and met the event floor under the ordinary six-event standard. A 500-point total with one event at 59 still contained an event failure. The current AFT's 300- and 350-point totals are different standards on a five-event, 500-point scale and should not be retroactively applied to an ACFT scorecard.

What Changed With the AFT

The Standing Power Throw was removed, leaving five events and a 500-point maximum. The current AFT has General and Combat standards. General passing requires 60 points in every event and 300 total; the designated Combat specialties require 60 in every event and 350 total under a sex-neutral, age-normed scale.

Current Use

The AFT is the Army's test of record. This page does not determine whether a historical ACFT result remains visible or administratively relevant in an individual record; verify personnel actions through the Soldier's chain of command and current Army systems.

Current Tools

Use the AFT Calculator for a current result, the exact AFT score chart for raw thresholds, or the legacy subtotal comparison tool to compare old event points without claiming an official conversion.
