2-Mile Run Calculator — AFT 2MR Pace & Score Lookup
Enter your 2-mile time, age group, and sex to calculate points from the Army scoring scales effective June 1, 2025. Includes current 60-point, at-least-70-point, and 100-point benchmarks.
2-Mile Run Scoring Table
| Age | Men 60 | Men ≥70 | Men 100 | Women 60 | Women ≥70 | Women 100 |
|---|
These thresholds are generated from the Army’s official AFT scoring scales. The ≥70 columns show the first published thresholds worth at least 70 points; Combat-standard Soldiers still need at least 60 points in every performed event and 350 total points.
Aerobic Capacity under Fatigue: The Role of the 2-Mile Run
The 2-Mile Run is the fifth and final scored AFT event. It measures aerobic endurance after the deadlift, hand-release push-up, sprint-drag-carry, and plank. A valid score therefore depends on the recorded finish time and the Soldier’s age and sex—not on a universal run cutoff.
Track Standards & Lap Pacing Discipline
A 2-mile course is slightly longer than eight 400-meter laps: eight laps total 3,200 meters, while 2 miles equal 3,218.688 meters. Follow the test-site start and finish marks rather than stopping at an unmarked eighth-lap line.
Optimal Pacing: Even Splits vs. Early Burnout
Choose a target finish time from your demographic’s scoring row, then translate it into mile and track splits. For example, a 16:00 target equals 8:00 per mile and approximately 1:59 per 400 meters when the final 18.688 meters are included. Use the Run Pace Calculator for the complete split schedule.
AFT 2MR Execution & Alternate Event Profiles
The test uses a measured 2-mile course. Soldiers whose approved DA Form 3349 authorizes an alternate aerobic event may be assigned the 5,000-meter row, 1,000-meter swim, 12,000-meter stationary bike, or 2.5-mile walk. Alternate events are pass/fail against age- and sex-specific times; the Profile Calculator explains how a profile affects the overall result.
2-Mile Run — Frequently Asked Questions
What is the maximum allowed time for the 2-Mile Run?
For ages 17–21, 60 points requires 19:57 or faster for men and 22:55 or faster for women. Use the calculator for another age group.
What run time earns 100 points?
For ages 17–21, 100 points requires 13:22 for men and 16:00 for women. Use the calculator or table for another age group.
How should I pace the 2-Mile Run after SDC and Plank?
Use your target time to set mile and track splits, begin near that pace, and reassess late in the event. Course conditions and individual pacing tolerance vary, so the split schedule is a planning tool rather than a scoring rule.
What alternate cardio events replace the 2-Mile Run for profiled Soldiers?
An approved profile may authorize the 5,000-meter row, 1,000-meter swim, 12,000-meter stationary bike, or 2.5-mile walk. Each is pass/fail against its age- and sex-specific time standard; it is not scored on the 2MR’s 0–100 curve.
